1. Discription:

Kedarnath is a Hindu site which is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttrakhand, India. 

It is also one of the Char Dham destinations which holds immense religious significance in Hindu mythology. The main attraction is the Kedarnath Temple, which is dedicated to lord Shiva, it is located in the majestic Himalayan ranges at an altitude of 11,755 feet. 

It is believed that the temple is built by the Pandavas from the Mahabharata epic.

2. Best time to visit:

The best time to visit Kedarnath is during the summer monts, the weather is very pleasent during these times.

It is very important that Kedarnath has very harsh winters, having heavy snowfall, and extremely cold temperatures, which makes it unsafe to visit during winters.

3. How to visit: 

To reach Kedarnath, your journey can be started from either Rishikesh or Haridwar, which are will connected by road, rail and air.

From there, you can reach to Gaurikund, which is the base camp for the trek to Kedarnath. The trekking distance from there to Kedarnath is approximately 16 kilometers, which can be covered on foot, or hiring a pony or palanquin, which is not suggested, the best option is on foot.

Helicopter services are also available who prefer an aerial journey and also are rich.

4. Cost for visit:

The cost for visiting Kedarnath can vary depending on various factors, such as transportation, accommodation and personal expenses. 

The cost for travel: from Rishikesh to Haridwar is around INR 1.000 to 2,000 per person.

Food and other expenses: On average you can expect to spend around INR 500 to 1,000 per person.

Accommodations: it costs arond INR 500 to 1,500 per person.
